We really enjoyed our time at Wheelers Lofts. You quickly get to know everyone, super fun and entertaining group of neighbors. Roof top movie night was so much fun as was the fireworks on the roof. We highly recommend it, if we ever found ourselves back in Springfield we wouldn’t have to think twice. The only place to live in Springfield. – Robert Henley

Wheelers Lofts is a great place to live! I lived there for many years and cannot imagine a better experience downtown. The common areas are clean, secure, well maintained and decorated for the holidays! There is an elevator and underground parking. Besides a beautiful rooftop deck, every loft has a balcony to watch the downtown activities and parades. I highly recommend Wheelers Lofts and if I ever move back to Springfield, I’ll move back in! – Lora Schauer

We had a fantastic experience at Wheeler’s Lofts. The management is great and needs are addressed promptly and professionally. The building is beautiful and well kept. The underground parking with elevator was a much loved feature. We can’t say enough good things about all the other residents of the building. If you are looking for fun, hip, refined, and classy downtown living, this is the place for you! – Traci Brown

My husband and I leased a loft at Wheeler’s Lofts and loved our time there! Although our primary home was 25 beautiful acres outside West Plains (100 miles away), we had both lived in much more urban settings (Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Kansas City) and we missed the heartbeat of a city filled with live music, galleries, concerts, theater, and great restaurants. Wheelers in Downtown Springfield was the perfect second home for us. But what enchanted us most about Wheeler’s Lofts was the community of like-minded souls we found living there who shared our interests. We loved the summertime rooftop movie nights, spontaneous cocktail hours, fireworks over Hammons Field, heartfelt conversations about work and life with fellow professionals who lived there, and the lifelong friendships we made.

I now live in Kentucky, but stay in close touch with my dear Wheelers friends. I treasure my time spent there, and who knows—one day I may come back. – Ann Lee Gibson

I absolutely loved living there. The space is so beautiful and you are completely safe with the underground parking. The neighbors were so warm and welcoming that it truly felt like being part of a nice big family. I loved walking to so many things and events from “home.” I miss living there so much !!! The owners are fanatic people and every easy to work with. I couldn’t recommend them any higher – Becky West

Wheeler’s loft has been incredible. Morris and Becky are very hospitable and friendly and they will come assist you whenever. The units are high end, classy, and have nice finishes! Would highly recommend!! – Dr David Lee

I’m a former tenant, and absolutely loved it there. All of the tenants are like one big, extended family. The location is great, as are the views for parades, etc. I miss living here, and if I were still living in Missouri, I would have definitely stayed here. – Christopher Petrey

When my husband and I retired and our children left home, we started thinking about downsizing and trying out a different way of life. For most of our married life, we had lived and worked in a small rural community, so we thought it might be fun to experience “city life” for a change. We often visited Springfield to attend theatre or eat out, so we decided to look around the downtown area for a starter apartment. That’s when we saw an ad for Wheelers Lofts, made an appointment with the owner, and took a look at the building that would become our home for the next twelve years.

The lofts at Wheelers are beautifully-appointed, totally unique, and perfectly maintained. The high ceilings, large windows, lovely hardwood floors, and modern fixtures were far beyond what we expected. Each loft has a private balcony, marble countertops in the kitchens and baths, large walk-in closets, and lots of storage space. The layout of the living spaces lend themselves to any kind of decor a tenant could dream of. We never felt cramped our crowded, even with our baby grand piano in the corner of our living room!

The amenities and common areas are decorated to perfection, with seating areas and artwork in the hallways, comfortable and classy outdoor furniture, grills, and even a sink and refrigerator on the rooftop deck. Each loft has an underground parking space, most large enough for two cars, and a large storage cage for your seasonal decor and other items you need only occasionally. There is also a gated parking lot with plenty of space for friends and visitors to park. Even the elevator, which runs from the basement to the third floor is clean, well-lighted and spacious enough to carry anything–even that large piano–into your loft!

The building itself is located in the heart of the downtown area. It is just steps away from the Landers Theatre, the Moxie, cinema, chic hotels, and dozens of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. The square with its festivals and activities and the public library are in very easy walking distance, as is Missouri State, Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts, the Springfield Cardinals, and much, much more. (What about noise, you might ask. To be honest, the downtown area can get a bit loud at times, especially on weekends, when MSU is in session. But we mostly found the vibrant surroundings exciting. Most of the lofts have interior bedrooms, and we found that a white-noise machine was handy in keeping the peace.)

But the feature of the building that we found most appealing was the community. While we lived there, we made some of the best friends we will ever have. From spur-of-the-moment cocktails to outdoor roof-top movies and pot-lucks to Christmas-tree-decorating parties, we enjoyed the fellowship of some of the most kind, generous, and interesting people you could ever hope to meet. By the same token, you can also find privacy and space, if that is what you are seeking.

We would live at Wheelers Lofts to this day, but we moved to the East Coast to be closer our children, who have settled there. We consider our time at Wheelers to among the best experience of our lives. I envy you the opportunity to start a new life at Wheelers Lofts! – Linda R
